Texas has long been thought of as a very firearm-friendly state. Though any adult who is legally allowed to own a firearm may participate in Texas conceal and carry, the Texas CWP is still available through the state’s Department of Public Safety. Obtaining a Texas concealed carry license will provide protection for anyone who intends to carry while traveling to one of the states that has a reciprocity agreement with Texas.
In order to secure your Texas CWP, you will need to take a firearms training course. Regardless of Texas carry requirements, we recommend that anyone who intends to participate in Texas conceal and carry take some form of training course so they can be safe firearm owners and carriers.

Through taking a Concealed Coalition class, you’ll receive a comprehensive overview of laws related to firearms in Texas, as knowing and understanding the regulations in your state is a vital part of being a law abiding participant in TX carry.
Another major piece of our training courses is gun safety. Our certified instructors emphasize proper handling practices, storage methods, and accident prevention. By learning to handle firearms responsibly, permit holders can become positive and safe influences in their communities.
Whether online or in-person, all of our courses are taught by experienced trainers who utilize their backgrounds in the firearms space to keep classes engaging with scenario-based training. We’ve found that this training method helps students become more adept at threat assessment, decision-making, and taking action in a crisis.
